July Favourites
Hello! Today I am going to be something I haven't yet done on my blog, which is a whole post dedicated to my months favourites! I have always wanted to do a post like this, but I always forget to do it at the end of the month or I haven't got enough products blah blah blah. BUT, after having my birthday and going on a few shopping trips at the end of June, I think I have found enough things to put in this post, as well as some things I have been loving for ages! Without further a do...
CLOTHES!
Topshop - Mom Jeans - £40
Yes, I know it's summer, and some of you are probably thinking "Why on earth is she buying jeans in June?!", but, I saw these in Topshop with my friend, and I had been debating buying them for a long time because I wasn't sure if they would suit me or not, but when I tried them on, I instantly fell in love with them and decided to get them. I already had a voucher so they weren't as expensive as they were meant to be. As the British weather is constantly changing, I have surprisingly worn these a lot over the past week and they are honestly so comfy! As they aren't skinny in the slightest, I don't feel as if I am being suffocated all the time which is definitely an upside hey? Also the quality is amazing, and the denim is really thick so will be perfect for the winter as well!
Topshop - Playsuit - £28
This was definitely a good buy. I bought this as a little treat to myself after finishing all my exams, and was planning on wearing it to my Prom afterparty, although it was slightly too cold for that, but I have worn it so so so much! When we had that crazy week of it being nearly 30 degrees everyday, I wore this A LOT! I also know that I will wear this all the time when I am in Sardinia, over my bikini or out for meals, it is just perfect. As I said in my last post, I have been loving the burnt out reddy colours and this fits that perfectly! It looks great with flat sandals, white converse and even heels, so can be worn as a day-to-night outfit!
BEAUTY/SKINCARE!
Smashbox - Water primer - £20
I got this at the very end of June as I had seen countless youtubers with it, and as I didn't have a primer, I thought it was worth a shot. This primer says that you can use it for three different things:
1. Use as a primer before makeup application
2. As a setting spray to lock on your look
3. Or as a refresher to wake up your makeup
Honestly? I think it does every single one of these things! I mainly just use a few spays to prime before my makeup, and then one or two more sprays to lock it into place. My makeup really does stay on all day, which is something I have struggled with for a long time as I have very oily skin. This is definitely worth £20 and I will 100% repurchase after I have finished it!
Liz Earle - Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser - £14
My amazing Nanna and Grandpa got me the whole Liz Earle set for my birthday, including the skin tonic, eye tonic, moisturiser and cleanse and polish, and out of the 4, I have been enjoying the cleanser the most. Normally, I use this twice a day (only a very small amount in the mornings, as a little bit goes a very long way) but sometimes only once if I wake up late, or just can't be bothered. This is incredible for removing all my makeup, even my eye makeup!? and it feels so soft and smooth on the face. If you don't want to splurge out on the whole set, I think this is an amazing place to start.
MAC - Velvet Teddy Satin Lipstick - £15.50
I purchased this product a while back, as my gorgeous friend Lizzie got it for her birthday and I kept on seeing her wearing it, and being like 'ooh I really need to get this!' The colour pigmentation is amazing and it is very long-lasting. This is quite a neutral colour so perfect for school/work, or even for going out. I have talked about Mac lipsticks many times on my blog, and this is just another fantastic one!
Soap & Glory - 'Hand Food' and 'Scrub + Happiness' - £2.50 each
I was very lucky to get these two products in a set from my lovely friends Asha and Rachel, and I have been using them so much! The scrub feels so amazing on my hands, and leave them feeling super soft, and then the hand food moisturiser leaves my hands feeling incredible! Also, as with most other soap and glory products, they smell bloody amazing! Like honestly, if I wanted my hands to smell of anything, it would be this 100%.
RANDOM FAVOURITES!
MUSIC
'Cant feel my face' - The Weeknd
This was released at the beginning of June, and like his other hit 'Earned it', it went straight into the charts. If you know me, you will know that I am a HUGE fan of all chart music, and this has definitely been my favourite song in the charts throughout the whole of this month. It is now 25 in the UK singles charts, and I'm sure will continue to go up. This is such a feel good song, and just perfect for the holidays.
BOOK
'Saving Grace' - Jane Green
I wasn't too sure when I got this book, as I only really like reading books when I'm away on holiday as I feel I have more time tor relax, and its just a nicer atmosphere to read in, but I got this from WHSmith and started reading it immediately. Admittedly, it took me a few chapters before I fully got into the book, but when I got the the middle I fell in love with the main character and couldn't put it down! I have now got a large pile of books just ready for me to take on holiday!
NEW HAIR!?
This is a slightly strange favourite, but at the very end of June, I had alottttt of hair cut off into a bob and I LOVE IT! Yes, I was a bit unsure at first, but it definitely grew on me. It was quite a big change, and I haven't had my hair this short since I was little! I just figured that having long hair was such a pain, especially when my natural hair wasn't even nice. Having short hair is going to make my holiday so much easier as it takes very little time to dry, and swimming in the pool and sea is going to be great! So, if you have reasonably thick hair like me and can't decide whether or not to go for the chop, I suggest that you do because honestly, it has made my life so much easier, and takes literally no time at all for me to style! I know a few of my friends have also had it done, and they love theirs just as much as I love mine!
And Ta Da! My first monthly favourites! Im going to try and do one of these each month, or every other month if I'm not loving enough products!
Much Love
